Neighborhood: Stevens Square
The Stevens Square neighborhood is an urban community located in a historical section of Minneapolis within walking distance of downtown. The neighborhood’s appeal is its urban village environment of 3-story brick apartment buildings built around a park during the early 1900’s. These classic buildings have been well maintained and/or renovated to retain their remarkable consistency in design and appearance. Serving as a gateway from downtown to the Minneapolis Institute of Art, a Frank Lloyd Wright bridge begins the “Avenue of the Arts” which runs along the east side of the neighborhood. All this, plus a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and parks in the immediate vicinity, makes the Stevens Square neighborhood a unique living experience.
